Butler is 9-1 against the Rockets since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Butler Bears will be staying on the road to face off against the Assumption Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Butler put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Western 91-18 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-12.
Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Assumption proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 62-54. The victory was just what Assumption needed coming off of a 77-43 loss in their prior matchup.
Butler has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Assumption, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Butler came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rockets in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 64-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Butler since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
