The Box Elder Bears had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Fort Benton/Highwood with a 47-42 win on Friday. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but Box Elder was the better team in the second half.
Box Elder found their leader in underclassman Martay Stiffarm-Rosette, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Stiffarm-Rosette grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shareece Raining Bird, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Box Elder's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Fort Benton/Highwood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Box Elder won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Star at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Fort Benton/Highwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
