Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Potlatch

Potlatch strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Clearwater Valley Rams. The Loggers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Rylee Tucker was a standout: she scored a run and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Lusby, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.

Potlatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearwater Valley only posted a batting average of .278.

Potlatch pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Clearwater Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potlatch will head out to challenge St. Maries at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Loggers will need to watch out since the Lumberjacks have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches. As for Clearwater Valley, they will challenge Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
