After a string of three wins, the Ellison Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of University by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Ellison couldn't push the score so high this time.
Their goal came courtesy of
Alejandra Lopez Kelly, who's now up to three this season.
Ellison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-2. As for University, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellison will face off against Waco at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Ellison is facing Waco at the right time seeing as Waco is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for University, they will head out on the road to challenge Killeen at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Killeen's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
