Two dominant backs in Jayden Fox and Da'Kari Releford Jr are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cherry Creek Bruins will square off against the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherry Creek is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Cherry Creek is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Grandview, who was ranked 18th at the time (Cherry Creek was ranked first). The Bruins took their matchup two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 52-15 win over the Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won nine contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Cherry Creek had a senior duo take command as Brady Vodicka threw for 290 yards and four touchdowns and Maxwell Lovett picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Cherry Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jake Kim and Tate Matthews. Matthews is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Kim got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Fountain-Fort Carson rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 14-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Trojans were the (much) better team in the second half.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Releford Jr and Logan Posey. Releford Jr had a great game and rushed for 188 yards and one TD while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Posey did his best for the losing side, rushing for 117 yards.
One reason for the win was Fountain-Fort Carson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Faleulu Leatiota refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.
Cherry Creek's record is now 10-0. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their record now sits at 8-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Cherry Creek has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 203.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fountain-Fort Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 213.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Cherry Creek against Fountain-Fort Carson in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as the squad secured a 42-6 victory. In that contest, the Bruins amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
