Given Fort Bend Clements' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Ridge Point is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Bend Clements can attribute much of their success to Divine Ugochukwu, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds, and Aziz Olajuwon, who scored 27 points. The match was Olajuwon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Mathews, who scored five points.
Fort Bend Bush is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Fort Bend Clements, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Fort Bend Bush came up short against Fort Bend Clements in their previous meeting back in February, falling 53-45.
