Soroco scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over Caprock Academy. The victory was just what Soroco needed coming off of a 54-32 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, North Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-30 loss at the hands of Rangely. North Park has not had much luck with Rangely recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Dezirae Gonzales and Miah Wren. Wren had a solid game and scored five points along with five assists. Meanwhile, Gonzales did her best for the losing side, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
North Park struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Soroco's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for North Park, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Soroco came up short against North Park in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Soroco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
