The Centennial Knights will head out on the road to face off against the North Springs Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Centennial took a serious blow against the Titans, falling 53-25. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Titans are ranked 163rd).
The losing side was boosted by Diamond Leslie, who scored 14 points. That was a full 56% of Centennial's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, North Springs' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kell. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Springs in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now lost eight in a row.
Centennial has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which is still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season. As for North Springs, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
Centennial came up short against the Spartans when the teams last played back in January, falling 46-42. Can Centennial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
