Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Victor Fisher Jr, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. Loss or not, Omaha South got some senior leadership from Lou Hodoly and Mar Cantu. Hodoly went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds, while Cantu posted 11 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakaih Miller, who had six points.
Grand Island moved to 3-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Omaha South, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
