Baseball Recap: Mater Academy East Las Vegas Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Mater Academy East Las Vegas won the last time they faced Mojave and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Rattlers. Considering the Knights have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jesse Rojas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Rocky Storla was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Luis Delgadillo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mojave only managed five hits.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mojave, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Coincidentally, Mater Academy East Las Vegas and Mojave will both be playing Virgin Valley the next time they take the field. The Rattlers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
