River Ridge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lincoln recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The River Ridge Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Lincoln Abes at 6:00 p.m. Lincoln took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on River Ridge, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, River Ridge earned a 7-4 victory over Stadium. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.
Jaylah Sok Vandergriff made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Sok Vandergriff was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Raylie Birklid was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lahtecia Garduno Hatch, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to Central Kitsap.
River Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
River Ridge beat Lincoln 16-12 when the teams last played back in March of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for River Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
