Softball Recap: Bisbee Has No Trouble Against Valley Union

Bisbee hadn't done well against Valley Union recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bisbee Pumas were the clear victor by a 23-7 margin over the Valley Union Blue Devils. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

Isabella Solis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Six bases. while getting on base in two of her seven plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other batting news, Destiny Rodriguez was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in four of her eight plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Lopez, who scored five runs and stole Four bases. while going 4-for-5.

Bisbee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Bisbee's record is now 7-2. As for Valley Union, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bisbee will take on Douglas at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Valley Union, they will face off against San Simon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. This will be San Simon's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
