Jordan has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while East Chapel Hill has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Falcons will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Jordan's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches.
On Thursday, Jordan made easy work of Chapel Hill and carried off a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kylie Specht was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacqueline (JJ) Thornburg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, East Chapel Hill hadn't done well against Northern Durham recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 21, 2024.
McKenna White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lauren Steiner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Anna Grabowski, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
East Chapel Hill is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Jordan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like East Chapel Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Jordan took their victory against East Chapel Hill in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
