Carbon is 10-0 against North Sanpete since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Carbon Dinos will head out on the road to square off against the North Sanpete Hawks at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carbon has six straight victories, North Sanpete has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Carbon beat Canyon View 66-53.
Carbon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Madison Orth, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Amiah Timothy, who scored 25 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Orth has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Curtis, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
North Sanpete suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Emery, falling 65-26. North Sanpete has struggled against Emery recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Carbon pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for North Sanpete, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Carbon against North Sanpete in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 76-36 victory. With Carbon ahead 46-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
