Landon Kizzer posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Kizzer and Desert will venture away from home to square off against Rosamond at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scorpions had to take a loss when they last met the Roadrunners, but Kizzer had little to do with the loss: he went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
