Las Cruces' loss came about despite a quality game from Bethzy Quinones, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Danae Pacheco was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Centennial faced the Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Centennial received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 46-27 to the Knights.
Las Cruces' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Las Cruces suffered a grim 65-45 defeat to the Hawks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Las Cruces, Aspen Salazar (who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists) won't be suiting up this time.
