The Armwood Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middleton. Armwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Middleton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Talon Mckinnie, who scored ten points along with two steals. Mckinnie hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Abe Diallo was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Middleton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Felix Harrell, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Antonio Lewis Jr, who scored 11 points.
Armwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Middleton, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Newsome is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Middleton, Middleton and Jefferson will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jefferson is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
