After a string of three wins, the Arrupe Jesuit Generals's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Stargate School on the road and fell 69-32. Arrupe Jesuit was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
Despite the defeat, Arrupe Jesuit saw an underclassman step up: Ari Cowans scored 19 points along with two steals. That was a full 59.4% of Arrupe Jesuit's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Leading Stargate School to victory were Connor Rusch and Dylan Perkins. Rusch went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists, while Perkins scored 19 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Camden Cottrell, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Arrupe Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Stargate School, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Arrupe Jesuit will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bluedevils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Lupton is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Stargate School, they will face off against the Sun Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
