Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Fallbrook Warriors walked away with it. They managed a 27-21 win over Imperial on Friday. The win was just what Fallbrook needed coming off of a 38-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fallbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Bausch, who rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Bausch's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilson Christopherson, who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Imperial had strong showings from Gio Robles, who picked up 32 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Jayden Ayala, who threw for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
Fallbrook's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Imperial, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-4.
Fallbrook will take on La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla Country Day is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Imperial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
