The Palmer Trinity Falcons won the last time they faced the Northwestern Bulls, and things went their way on Friday too. Palmer Trinity strolled past Northwestern with points to spare, taking the game 47-28. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Palmer Trinity has managed all season.
Palmer Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jade Leon out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Leon has scored at least 25% of Palmer Trinity's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Esparza, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Palmer Trinity's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Northwestern, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Trinity won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Westminster Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Westminster Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Palmer Trinity in Florida (Westminster Academy is ranked 14th, while Palmer Trinity is ranked 69th). Northwestern will be home for the holidays to greet Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Palmetto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
