AISA A Region 2 recap October 1, 2013
Marengo Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 84 from 133 this week, the biggest jump in AISA A Region 2. The Longhorns climbed the ranks as a result of besting Wilcox Academy 28-6.
Pickens Academy added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Eastwood Christian, 46-12. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Jackson Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Caleb Anderson has thrown for 508 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Taylor Roberts has 12 catches for 232 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Pickens Academy takes on Jackson Academy. Josh Thacker's team is currently in first, while the Eagles are in third.
The Pirates took down Eastwood Christian 46-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
