Mukwonago is 1-9 against Arrowhead since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Indians will host the Warhawks at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Mukwonago's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Waukesha South as they made off with a 21-0 victory. That 21 run margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
Sienna Sturino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mukwonago got a massive performance out of Jordan Chatham, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Chatham snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Amelia Motl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Mukwonago always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .681. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waukesha South only posted an OBP of .300.
Meanwhile, Arrowhead made easy work of Kenosha Tremper on Wednesday and carried off a 10-0 win. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Arrowhead's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mukwonago, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Mukwonago beat Arrowhead 5-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
