Williamsville took their matchup against Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry on Friday by a conclusive 55-28 score. Followers of Williamsville probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Williamsville started the contest off right with 42 first-half points. Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 42-7 heading into the break. Williamsville were outscored in the second half, but Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry's efforts were ultimately no more than a drop in the ocean.
Williamsville found Williamsville's leader in underclassman sophomore Conor McCormick, who rushed for 60 yards and 4 touchdowns. In fact, with ten tackles Shue was a force on both sides of the ball. Sophomore Conor McCormick was in the mix, too, providing Williamsville with four touchdowns. The victory was the 4th in a row for them, as they raised their record to 7-1. Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry are on a eight-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 1-8.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Williamsville take on PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 7:00 PM. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Williamsville's good fortune. As for Pittsfield-Griggsville-Perry, they will face off against Pleasant Plains.
