The Moreno Valley Vikings will head out to face off against the Lakeside Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Moreno Valley has three straight wins, Lakeside has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Moreno Valley barely beat Perris the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 45-19 margin over the Panthers on Thursday. Considering the Vikings have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Syree Matthews
| 10/16/25 vs Perris | 232 |
| 08/29/25 vs Paloma Valley | 220 |
| 09/19/24 vs La Sierra | 203 |
| 10/09/25 @ Heritage | 195 |
| 10/25/24 vs Lakeside | 182 |
Syree Matthews had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 232 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 80 yards and one TD on only six carries. Those 232 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Matthews' aerial production (135 yards to be exact) went to Johnny Robinson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Moreno Valley's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Oscar De La Torre was the leader with three. Another thorn in Perris' side was Cashawn Neal, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles.
Meanwhile, Lakeside took a blow against Heritage on Thursday, falling 55-27.
Moreno Valley will have to keep a close watch on Robert Arellano and Izaiah Robateau, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lakeside's prior game. Arellano threw for 181 yards and a pair of TDs, while Robateau gained 122 total yards and a touchdown. Robateau's longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards.
Moreno Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Everything went Moreno Valley's way against Lakeside when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Moreno Valley made off with a 49-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
