This season hasn't been kind to the Hancock Panthers, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were outmatched by Northern on the road and fell 59-26. Northern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lydia Nelson out in front who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Abby Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Hancock's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Northern, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Hancock will be playing in front of their home fans against Berkeley Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Berkeley Springs is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Northern, they will head out on the road to challenge Keyser at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
