The Needles Mustangs can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lincoln County 85-43 on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Needles, who after 23 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Needles to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Russell, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Russell has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Luca Walema was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Several Lynx players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenyon Almaraz, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Robison, who scored ten points.
Needles pushed their record up to 23-0 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.47 points. As for Lincoln County, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Needles and Founders Classical Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Founders Classical Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 10. As for Lincoln County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Adelson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Adelson has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
