If The Glenpool Warriors were riding high off their 50-15 takedown of the East Central Cardinals last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Glenpool lost to McAlester at home by a decisive 31-13 margin on Friday. Glenpool has struggled against McAlester recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
McAlester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Clark, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Carter Lance also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Glenpool has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for McAlester, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-4.
Glenpool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McAlester will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Kelley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Kelley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully McAlester likes a good challenge.
