The Skyline Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Lone Jack Mules on Tuesday. Skyline is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Skyline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Warsaw, who was ranked fourth at the time (Skyline was ranked first). The Tigers skirted past the Wildcats 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Adrian typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Lone Jack proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Blackhawks. Considering the Mules have won ten contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaylee Felix made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Felix was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Faith Throgmorton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Remmi Fender was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lone Jack was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Skyline's record now sits at 29-2. As for Lone Jack, their record is now 16-7.
Skyline got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Lone Jack by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Mules have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
