The Van Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a hard 51-33 fall against Mount View. Van has not had much luck with Mount View recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mount View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthias Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaron Hale, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Van's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mount View, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Van will take on Tolsia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tolsia knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Van likes a good challenge. As for Mount View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bluefield at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mount View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
