The Wicomico Indians and the Polytech Panthers will round out the year against one another at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wicomico is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Pocomoke: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Indians blew the Warriors out of the water with a 76-17 final score. The win was just business as usual for the Indians, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Wicomico's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Trinity Purnell, who went 8-for-12 on her way to 18 points along with seven steals and five assists, and Se'Lah Foreman, who shot 50% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. The matchup was Foreman's third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Alice Tolker, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.
Wicomico smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Polytech, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 45-13 victory over Sussex Tech. With the Panthers ahead 28-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Polytech's win came from a few key players Wicomico will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sierra Henry, who had 14 points along with eight steals and five assists. Henry is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Tatiana Trader was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.
Wicomico's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Polytech, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Wicomico just can't miss this season, having made 48.1% of their shots per game. It's a different story for Polytech, though, as they've only made 32.7% of their field goals this season. Given Wicomico's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
