Paul VI blew past St. Mary's Ryken, posting a 79-34 win at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Paul VI also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the defeat, St. Mary's Ryken saw an underclassman step up: Zahria Higginbotham scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 73.5% of St. Mary's Ryken's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Paul VI's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for St. Mary's Ryken, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.
Paul VI didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-26 win vs. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on the 10th. St. Mary's Ryken has also already played their next contest, a 73-45 defeat against Archbishop Carroll on the 8th.
