After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. John Bosco Academy, the Cottage Cougars were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over Riverside Military Academy.
Cottage can attribute much of their success to Maxwell Lagan, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. The match was Lagan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Dorsey, who scored 6 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasan Wall, who scored 10 points. Abddullahi Kashim Bukar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The last time Cottage lost on the road was back back in November. Having now won three straight away matchups, they've pushed their record up to 4-5. As for Riverside Military Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Cottage will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tapestry Charter at 6:30 p.m. Tapestry Charter is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Riverside Military Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
