The Mountain Crest Mustangs's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Logan Grizzlies on Wednesday. Mountain Crest secured a 50-46 W over Green Canyon. For Mountain Crest, this counts as revenge for the 56-55 defeat Green Canyon walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Crest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Arnell, who scored 16 points. Kaden Hess was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Despite the loss, Green Canyon had strong showings from Gavin Crane, who scored 12 points, and Jared Anderson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Green Canyon struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Mountain Crest's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Green Canyon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Crest will take on Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 569 points over their last nine contests. As for Green Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
