The Cordova Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Arlington Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Cordova fell victim to Bartlett's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 41-0. While losing is never fun, Cordova can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Bartlett is ranked 18th).
Meanwhile, Arlington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Germantown 38-0. Arlington was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
This is the second loss in a row for Cordova and nudges their season record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Arlington, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Things could have been worse for Cordova, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 28-13 loss to Arlington when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can Cordova avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
