There's no place like home for the Seton Hall Prep Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past East Side 70-38 at home on Thursday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-13.
Seton Hall Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gino Romano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alex Ante, who scored 13 points.
Seton Hall Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for East Side, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Seton Hall Prep will square off against St. Benedict's Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Benedict's Prep will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Seton Hall Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Side, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Irvington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Side will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Irvington is ranked 93rd).
