The Concordia Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 52-25 loss at the hands of Savio. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Concordia has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Savio to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Blood, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks. Blood is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Finn Klein, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Concordia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Savio, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concordia will take on Bracken Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bracken Christian will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Savio, they will head out on the road to face off against Regents at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Regents' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
