The Springville Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Provo by a score of 78-69. The win was just what Springville needed coming off of a 78-45 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Springville to victory were Jamyn Sondrup and Mason Hansen. Sondrup scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Hansen scored 29 points. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. Andrew Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Provo still got an impressive performance from Jason Carter, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. The match was Carter's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Castagnetto, who scored 15 points along with six assists.
Springville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Provo, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Springville will be home for the holidays to greet Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Judge Memorial Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Provo, they will head out on the road to face off against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grantsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Provo is ranked 35th).
