The Wayne County Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the McNairy Central Bobcats at 6:35 p.m. on Friday. Wayne County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Wayne County barely beat Collinwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 12-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Trojans since April 18, 2022.

Logan Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jacan Floyd was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brady Stooksberry was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Wayne County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, McNairy Central came up short against Chester County on Wednesday and fell 8-3. The Bobcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
McNairy Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Kiestler, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Wayne County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for McNairy Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.
Wayne County couldn't quite get it done against McNairy Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
