Century had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. This was a revenge game for the Centurions: when they faced off against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton back in December of 2024, they had to take a 61-35 defeat.

Among those leading the charge was Nevaeh Mackins, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Crain, who earned 12 points.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlyn Stayton, who scored eight points and 16 rebounds. Stayton is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games she's played. Cara Tripp-Reams was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Century pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Century didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-31 defeat against Shawnee on the 18th. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 36-23 win against Galatia/Thompsonville on the 21st.
