The Omaha Westside Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Southeast Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha Westside has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 395 points over their last five games.
Last Friday, Omaha Westside really took it to Omaha Northwest for the full four quarters, racking up a 87-44 win on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-24.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Omaha Westside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Stubblefield, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The contest was Stubblefield's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rickey Loftin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Bryan on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 68-66. While losing is never fun, Lincoln Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Bryan is ranked ninth).
Omaha Westside's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Lincoln Southeast, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Omaha Westside came up short against Lincoln Southeast in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 67-59. Thankfully for Omaha Westside, Bangot Dak (who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
