Chloe Hancock was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adalyn Ramey was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Eloise Cox was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tri made easy work of Union City on Wednesday and carried off a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.
Like Edinburgh, Tri also got a great game from a two-way player: Macey Ballard. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Ballard has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lyla Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Rylan Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Edinburgh's record now sits at 20-7. As for Tri, their record is now 12-7.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edinburgh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like Tri struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
