The Galena Pirates were the 70-58 winner over the East Dubuque Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Galena fell 61-52 to East Dubuque on Wednesday. Galena has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Galena lost, one person who can't be blamed is Connor Glasgow. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with five assists and three steals. Glasgow hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Kaden Hauber was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Galena's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for East Dubuque, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena will take on River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully River Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. As for East Dubuque, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Carroll is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
