Softball Recap: Poteet Has No Trouble Against Stockdale

Poteet lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Stockdale, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Poteet Aggies were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over the Stockdale Brahmas on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Liliana Garzes, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Leona Curbey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Poteet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.

Poteet pushed their record up to 4-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs over those games. As for Stockdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Poteet will welcome Kenedy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Stockdale, they will host Ben Bolt at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Stockdale is facing Ben Bolt at the right time seeing as Ben Bolt is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
