It was a good run, but the Kiowa Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 44-37 to Hi-Plains. Kiowa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hi-Plains apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Kiowa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Perreault. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Wyer, who scored eight points.
Hi-Plains' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caelan Church, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Henschel, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Kiowa's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Hi-Plains, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kiowa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Evangel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hi-Plains won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Briggsdale at 3:00 p.m. on December 9th. Briggsdale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hi-Plains in Colorado (Briggsdale is ranked 34th, while Hi-Plains is ranked 138th).
