After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kings Christian, the Riverdale Cowboys were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They breezed by Alpaugh on the road to the tune of 62-30.
Alpaugh's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jesse Alcazar, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Alcazar scored a full 40% of Alpaugh's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Nunez, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds.
Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Alpaugh, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Riverdale's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wonderful College Prep Academy. As for Alpaugh, they will take on Caruthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
