If the River Valley Vikings were riding high off their 60-31 takedown of the Marion Harding Presidents last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. River Valley fell 42-32 to Shelby on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points River Valley has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why River Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexie Hecker. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her.
River Valley bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Shelby, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
River Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Highland at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Highland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Shelby, they will head out on the road to face off against Clear Fork at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Clear Fork is ranked 94th, while Shelby is ranked 96th).
