Baseball Recap: Daniel Boone Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Daniel Boone, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones on Thursday as they made off with a 14-5 victory. Considering the Trailblazers have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

T J Leonard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Leonard was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ben Stevens was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jackson McCurry was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Daniel Boone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Daniel Boone's record is now 21-8-1. As for Elizabethton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Daniel Boone will be taking part in a tournament against Smoky Mountain at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Elizabethton has already played their next matchup (against Science Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
