Brunswick Academy is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Kenston Forest is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Brunswick Academy 3.7, Kenston Forest 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Brunswick Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Tidewater Academy last Thursday. The Vikings never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Ross Reese made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Reese was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Wells, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Cole Powell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Brunswick Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Southampton Academy last Thursday.
Like Brunswick Academy, Kenston Forest also got a great game from a two-way player: Tine Sledd. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. In other batting news, Jobe Sullivan was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-2.
Kenston Forest's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Brunswick Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Brunswick Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. However, it's not like Kenston Forest struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brunswick Academy couldn't quite get it done against Kenston Forest in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 8-5. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
