The Summit Academy Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by All City Leadership Academy on the road to the tune of 79-29. With Summit Academy ahead 36-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Summit Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sariah Gammon, who scored 30 points along with five steals. Gammon is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amerie Santana, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals.
Summit Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. As for All City Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Summit Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Teachers Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Teachers Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Summit Academy is ranked 121st). As for All City Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bedford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
