The Itawamba Agricultural Indians will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Kosciusko Whippets at 7:00 p.m. Itawamba Agricultural is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Itawamba Agricultural is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Tishomingo County 42-23. The Indians' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Xavier Waters produced another solid performance rushing for 145 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Ashton Hoots, who threw for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Itawamba Agricultural was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 230 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kosciusko). They claimed a resounding 58-10 victory over Rosa Fort. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Whippets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Lions are ranked 107th).
A big part of Kosciusko's win came down to the chemistry between Caiden Wade and his top target Jontavious Roundtree. Wade threw for 177 yards and three TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes while Roundtree gained 123 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Wade racked up 159.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Jonterrious Herron got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Kosciusko didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mylan Johnson-Herron and Herron. Herron got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Itawamba Agricultural's record is now 8-2. As for Kosciusko, their record now sits at 10-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Itawamba Agricultural has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kosciusko struggles in that department as they've been averaging 199.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Itawamba Agricultural skirted past Kosciusko 17-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2017. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Whippets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
